What Is BOTOX® Treatment and How Does It Work?
BOTOX® is a natural purified protein that is injected into the skin with a tiny needle at specific areas of the face to temporarily relax a patient’s muscles. As a result, BOTOX® can have both cosmetic and therapeutic applications.
BOTOX® Cosmetic Applications
BOTOX® relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles, creating a smoother and younger appearance.
When injected into the facial muscles, BOTOX® blocks the message from the nerve to the muscle which results in muscle relaxation.
It is a simple and quick minimally invasive treatment that delivers results with no downtime.
BOTOX® Therapeutic Applications
BOTOX® also has the ability to help patients struggling with dental issues, such as:
- TMJ Disorder — pain in the jaw and facial muscles
- Grinding and/or clenching teeth
